Casa Maravillas
Learn to do good! Seek justice! Rescue the oppressed! Defend the orphan! Plead for the widow!
PURPOSE: Our desire is to build a safe place to house Deaf women and to teach and train them to fully realize their potential as independent and Spirit-filled women God created them to be in order to transition into independent adulthood.
What we teach/provide:
- A safe & secure place to live
- Groceries
- Basic toiletries
- School supplies
- Interpretation services in any situation that requires it (doctor's office, work, school, government offices, church, etc.)
- Transportation
- Educational assistance
- How to navigate public transportation safely
- How to search & apply for a job
- How to budget money
- How to make a doctor's appointment/apply for medical insurance
- Your rights as a Deaf woman in Mexico
- Christian living
- Bible study
- Identity in Jesus
- Church community
What we require:
- Personal responsibility
- To further personal education in school and/or have a job
- Be part of a church community

Progress and needs
PHASE 1 COMPLETED. Rent a home or apartment to begin housing deaf women
We are currently looking for a safe and suitable area to rent a place that is close to the downtown Ensenada area.
UPDATE: We already found and signed the lease for a two bedroom apartment in a safe neighborhood in Ensenada. We hope to have two Deaf women by January 2019 living with us.
UPDATE: As of January 21st, we have officially received our first Deaf woman to live in the apartment. Pray for us as we begin this part of our journey in ministry.
UPDATE: We received our second Deaf women in March (2019) to live in the apartment with us. Pray for us as we begin raising funds to cover the expenses of each women living here! God is good!
UPDATE: Starting this summer 2020 we will be actively looking for a second apartment or house for the women that are on our waiting list. Pray that we are led to the right place.
UPDATE: Summer 2021. We found a new house to lease for Casa Maravillas. We also have our eyes on a plot of land and just waiting on the Lord to provide the finances to purchase it ($35,000 - $40,000 USD).
UPDATE: Fall 2022. We did not renew our lease for the house we rented for Casa Maravillas in order to concentrate our efforts in saving for something more permanent.
UPDATE: Summer 2024. We are currently reaching out to and ministering to Deaf women in need in the community.
WE ARE SEEKING NEW FINANCIAL PARTNERS TO KEEP UP WITH THE EXPENSES OF OUR MINISTRY. WE ARE LOOKING FOR 18 PEOPLE TO GIVE $25 DOLLARS A MONTH TO PROVIDE FOR OUR DEAF WOMEN LIVING HERE. PHASE 2. Purchase a house or a plot of land to build a permanent home
Our goal is to have a permanent home where we can house Deaf women and teach them to safely navigate this life as a independent Deaf women. This place will also house Frances Vazquéz and other staff involved with Casa Maravillas.
UPDATE: Summer 2024. We currently have $16,000 USD in our Casa Maravillas House Fund. Our goal is to reach $25,000 USD.

- Pray that God leads us to the right house or lot to purchase.
- Pray that we would receive miraculous financial support and to find an affordable place.
- That God would bring us partners to spiritually support us and to also come down to help us build the house.
